Senior Club Notes 6.1.19

Social and Awards Night

Held in the Gleneagle on December 28th, the night was a resounding success attended by almost 300 patrons. The night of celebrations to honour an exceptional year for the club was adorned by the presence of RTE’s Marty Morrissey who acted as MC for the night. The senior team were presented with their Kerry and Munster medals by Tim Murphy Chairman of Kerry County Board while the junior team received their O’Sullivan Cup medals from Johnny Brosnan East Kerry Board.

Donal and Niamh Dwyer were presented with the “Club Person of the Year award” for their colossal contribution to the club over the year and in particular for organising the very successful “Night at the Oskars”.

Other Presentations: Junior Player of the Year went to James Nagle while Kieran Murphy, Gary O’Leary, Paul O’Shea and Keith O’Leary were recognised for their achievements with Kerry during the year. Willie Fleming was acknowledged for his work in securing the extra playing field and Government sports grants.

Ian O’Connell Fundraiser: Our Ladies committee once again organised a very successful fundraiser in the Klub on Friday 5th. They wish to acknowledge all those who sponsored the event and those who attended on the night and gave generously. Ian who attended with his parents was appreciative of the effort and wished the senior team the best of luck in two weeks in the All-Ireland Semi-Final.

All-Ireland Semi-Final vs Two Mile House of Kildare is just 10 days away so again it is time to put up the colours and get ready to travel to the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Sunday week.
