Senior Club Notes 20.1.19

All Ireland Semi Final: Croke Park beckons in three weeks for our Senior team after their one-point victory on Sunday last over a very competitive Two-Mile House outfit from Kildare. Resilience was the hallmark of this performance as they overcame a blistering start by the opposition, the loss of a midfielder through two yellow cards and a highly charged atmosphere to get over the line. Well done to the players, management and backup team but especially to the supporters for their enormous vocal support which was a huge motivating factor in this historic victory.

A detailed report will be available on the website in the coming days as well as some information on the final.

Team: Brendan Kealy, Sean O Leary, Donal Maher, Dan Moynihan, Philip Casey, Chris O Leary, William Maher, Kieran Murphy, Kevin Gorman, Shane McSweeney, Gary O Leary, Padraig Nagle, Noel Duggan, Ian Devane, Matt Keane, Subs Used: Kelvin Teahan, Daniel O’Leary, John McCarthy and Kevin McCarthy.

A word of congratulations to Beaufort who qualified for the Junior Final also on February 9th and a note of thanks to all our neighbouring clubs who send messages of goodwill, some of whom attended the game.

Croke Park Draw: €10 tickets are still available with the proceeds going to the team’s fund in preparation for the All-Ireland Final.

Operation Transformation/Light up Ireland: commences this Thursday night in the GAA club’s new walkway from 7pm to 9pm. Register in the clubhouse first and then walk as much as you like on the lit-up walkway. Non-Members and general community are welcome, and it is not so much about losing weight as to get people health and fit conscious. Please remember dogs are not allowed for health and safety reasons. No charge for use of walkway.

Sympathy: is extended to the family of Nora Maher Milltown who died last week. May she rest in peace.
