JUNIOR

JUNIOR – The Kilcummin Junior team played two games in the past week with narrow victories over Currow in the East Kerry junior league semi final on Tuesday night and on Friday night they defeated Dr. Crokes in the County Junior league.

Kilcummin 0-13, Currow 2-6. The Kilcummin Junior team qualified for the East Kerry Junior league Division one Final with a one point victory over Currow in the semi final played in Farranfore on Tuesday night last. Kilcummin got off to a great start with points from Michael O’Shea (free), Diarmuid O’Donoghue, Robert Casey and Ritchie O’Connor. Currow replied with a point and in the 17th minute Currow struck for a well taken goal. Kilcummin finished the half with unanswered points from Michael O’Shea (2), Ger Sheehan (2) and Ian O’Leary to leave the half time score Kilcummin 0-9, Currow 1-1. Kilcummin extended their lead in the opening minutes of the 2nd half with points from Ger Sheehan and Ian O’Leary. Currow began to dominate this game kicking 1-5 to leave the sides all square 0-12 to 2-6 after 21 minute. Kilcummin only reply was a point from a free from Michael O’Shea in the 15th minute. In the 26th minute Kilcummin’s Diarmuid O’Donoghue kicked a long range point that turned out to be the winning point. Final Score Kilcummin 0-13, Currow 2-6.
