Senior Board AGM

The AGM of the senior board was held in the Clubhouse on Sunday Jan 12th last. All outgoing officers were returned for a further 12 months, with the exception of Ceara Scanlon who stepped down following a 2 year term. Tributes were paid to Ceara on the day for her great work over the past 2 years. Willie Fleming will continue as Chairman therefore for 2014 and Frances Moriarty will take over as Secretary. The position of Assistant Secretary remains vacant and will filled by the Executive over the coming weeks. Seanie O’Leary remains on as senior team manager with Willie Maher taking over the U21’s, Dermot Fleming continues as junior team manager and Sean Brendan Doherty takes over as minor team manager. The meeting was informed that the club would be proceeding over the coming weeks with the purchase of the 3.5 acres of land directly adjoining us to the south from St. Brendan’s Trust at a reduced price on what was originally agreed and that further fundraising would be required over the coming weeks to allow the club to complete the purchase. This was seen as a very positive development by all members present. We look forward now with confidence to 2014 and wish all well in their roles within the club for the year ahead.
