At the Juvenile AGM two important motions were passed for the coming year that have particular relevance to parents of younger children. The first states that
“Only children who are five years of age on 1 January 2011 will be eligible to partake in practice sessions”
The second refers to parental supervision and requires that
” All parents must remain at the pitch for all children under 6 years of age . Where a parent cannot remain at the pitch they must appoint an alternative parent to oversee their child/children and advise the appropriate mentor accordingly”.
This second motion arises from child protection and safety concerns particularly in respect of care and attention that a child might need in respect of matters such as
A) injury
B) toilet breaks
C) or upset for whatever reason.
Anybody with any queries in relation to these motions should contact one of the committee.
