COUNTY LEAGUE DIV. 1: Kilcummin 0-8 St Mary’s 0-12

COUNTY LEAGUE DIV. 1: Kilcummin 0-8 St Mary’s 0-12. It was another disappointing trip down South for us in the County League as we left a 0-7 to 0-4 advantage at one stage in the second half slip and St Marys took their scores superbly in the final quarter. Shane McSweeney’s absence at midfield was a big setback as well as Brendan Kealy and Mike McCarthy’s unavailability due to Kerry commitments. We led by 0-5 to 0-3 at half time when two brilliant saves in as many minutes from Diarmuid O’Donoghue kept us in it as two points each from DJ Fleming and Ben Brosnan and another from Paul O’Donoghue saw us lead at half time. Kevin O’Gorman was having an inspirational game for us at midfield and his superb point in the 41st minute seem to put us in control. However Paul O’Donoghue (St Marys) and Daniel Daly started to cause huge problems for us and they hit eight unanswered points in a row to inflict another defeat on us with another free from DJ Fleming scant consolation at the end. A major improvement is needed against Glenflesk in two weeks time or it could be a very hard slog ahead! Team: Diarmuid O’Donoghue, Sean Brosnan, Killian Murphy, Tommy Cooper, Padraig Kelly, Kieran O’Donoghue, John Devane Eamon O’Donoghue, Kevin Gorman (0-1), Ian Devane, Tommy Brosnan, Richie O’Connor Ben Brosnan (0-3), Paul O’Donoghue (0-1), DJ Fleming (0-3, 2f) Subs introduced: Robert Casey and Daniel O’Leary
