After the euphoria and celebrations of winning the county intermediate championship we travelled to Ardfert on Saturday last with more than a little bit of trepidation. Missing seven from the final the rest of the players gone on with the business and came out on top in an entertaining, physical encounter. Goals from Shane McSweeney in either half were a telling factor in this victory but great credit is due to all, particularly to the younger players. Foremost of these was James Nagle who had a fine game at wing back but Jamie O’Donoghue and Oscar O’Connor also made telling contributions while the return of Sean Brosnan from injury was encouraging.
Our next game is at home to Currow in two weeks and the players will probably welcome the “Rest” after nine consecutive weekends playing.
