It was a case of 2 in a row for Declan McCarthy yesterday as for the second consecutive year his team won our annual fundraising golf classic. Second were Corkerys Bar, with Sean Kelly MEP third. Rathmore GAA Club won the best GAA Club entry. Many thanks to all who participated and sponsored teams and tee boxes. Special thanks to our main sponsor Ronan O’Connor & Le Tigre Enterprises. Our hand working committee who organised the event deserve special praise, in particular Joe Collins. Colm Brosnan for the use of his catering equipment and our ladies committee for cooking some nice treats for the golfers are also to be thanked along with Mike & Margaret Moriarty, Centra Farranfore, who sponsored the food for the outing. Thanks also to Kerry Spring who sponsored water. Many other people played their part and we thank them all for their efforts. Finally the course in Beaufort was in excellent condition and thanks to Johnny Doolan and the members in Beaufort for all their assistance on the day and in the run up to the event. So all golfers in Kilcummin now have 12 months to get some practice in and stop Declan McCarthy from winning 3 in row in 2013!!
