Kilcummin 3-15 Listry 1-11

Kilcummin secured their second victory of the campaign at home to Listry on Saturday evening last. Two early goals from Daniel Moynihan and Oscar O Connor set us up nicely  early on. However an incident in the square that lead to our goalie getting black carded and a penalty given saw Listry come within a point of us after 15 minutes. However to our credit we put it behind us and with Noel Duggan in great scoring form and Damien O Leary Donal Maher and Chris O Leary controlling things in defence we lead at half time by 2-6 to 1-2 having played against the breeze.

The second half saw Listry rally briefly with two early points but with Matthew Keane in particular and Shane McSweeney controlling midfield we never looked like losing this one. In fairness to Listry they never gave up and with fellows like Danny Wrenn, Jimmy O Leary and Derry Aherne driving on they managed to score another seven points before the game was over. A great move saw Matthew Keane finish to the net for a third goal late in the game to round off a very competent display. Very heartening was the display of many of our younger players such as Paul O Riordan, Jamie O Donoghue and Oscar O Connor who complimented our more established members.
