Senior Club Notes 24.3.19

Credit Union County Senior Football League Round 2

Kilcummin 0-15 Templenoe 3-4

Our senior team picked up their second brace of points on Sunday after a hard-earned victory against Templenoe. Trailing by nine points after 15 minutes things looked gloomy! However, the lads dug in and wrestled back control from the excellent visitors, kicking six points to haul the deficit back to three at half-time. Playing against the wind in the second-half they forged ahead but needed several excellent saves from Brendan Kealy to keep Templenoe out.

Kevin Gorman, Matt Keane and Gary O’Leary were outstanding while Donal Maher, Philip Casey and John McCarthy will be very happy with their contributions. On the down side Kieran Murphy and Shane McSweeney picked up injuries to add to the bad news that Kevin McCarthy picked up a significant injury playing with Kerry.

We wish them and our other injured players a quick recovery as we now face into the Senior Club championship in two weeks’ time.

Team: Brendan Kealy, Sean Brosnan, Donal Maher, Philip Casey, James Nagle, Sean O’Leary, William Maher, Kieran Murphy, Kevin Gorman, Shane McSweeney, Gary O’Leary, Matt Keane, Mikey O’Shea, Noel Duggan, Oscar O’Connor. Subs used Damien O’Leary, John McCarthy and Enda O’Sullivan
