Coaching Ireland has the lead role in the development of coaching in Ireland on an all island basis.
The main objectives of Coaching Ireland are:
•Raise the standard, status and profile of coaching in Ireland to provide performers and participants with the best quality coaching through their involvement in sport
•Lead the development of coaching in Ireland through the implementation of a quality coach and tutor education and support programme
•Work in partnership with NGBs and the wider sporting sector on an all island basis
Michael McGeehin, Director
Michael joined Coaching Ireland as Director in April 2006. Prior to this he led the Donegal Sports Partnership from its inception to the successful completion of its first strategy.
Michael is a P.E. Graduate from the University of Limerick and had a successful career in the army retiring at the rank of commandant.
Michael is also a master tutor with the Ulster Council G.A.A. He is also a vastly experienced coach having coached a number of Inter County Teams including Mayo, Fermanagh, Roscommon, Laois and Clare. Michael also coached Finn Harps F.C.
Michael will be making a presentation of Long Term Player Development (LTPD) and Coaching Structure/Courses will take place in Kilcummin GAA Hall from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday 8th February.
