O’Sullivan Cup Semi-Final

 

Kilcummin 1-16 Fossa 0-13

 

Played in Kilcummin on a perfect Tuesday evening for Football the home team emerged victorious and qualified for the final of the O’Sullivan Cup against either Dr Crokes or Firies.

 

This was a very lively and entertaining game early on with Fossa having the upper and going in to a 0-4 to 0-1 by the 10th minute. However a goal by Sean Moynihan gave Kilcummin a lift and they took the initiative for the remainder of the half and lead by 1-7 to 0-6 at the break.

 

Kilcummin were never really threatened in the second half and driven on by an inspired Shane McSweeney held the upper hand throughout. Matt Keane was working very hard and kicked some fine points to keep the Fossa challenge at bay. Donal Maher had a fine game for Kilcummin with Damien O’Leary, Daniel O’Leary and Tomas O’Connor also showing well.

 

For Fossa Tadgh O’Shea gave an exhibition of point taking, Donald O’Sullivan showed all his skill and experience and between them accounting for all but one of their teams scores. Anthony Warton and Fintan Coffey had periods of dominance in a game that was skilful, sporting and entertaining throughout.
